With over 230 documented species, the protected area is a paradise for native birds. Countless plant and insect species also thrive in the nature reserve.
Another gem is the Frauental Abbey. Frauental is the oldest Cistercian abbey in Switzerland that still stands at its original founding site. In the abbey shop, you can satisfy a small hunger with homemade baked goods.
The magnificent Villettepark is the crowning finale of the hike. It was artfully landscaped in the English style in 1865 by Theodor Froebel from Zurich. Covering 46,000 square meters, the tranquil Villettepark is a popular local recreation area for residents.
