Under the theme “Myths”, the theater will present a diverse program for the 2025/2026 season that draws on and reinterprets stories, legends, and narratives. National and international guest performances, in-house productions, and co-productions in the fields of drama, music, dance, Nouveau Cirque, and youth theater invite you to exciting cultural encounters.  Accompanying themed talks invite the audience to engage in conversation about the power and significance of myths. Browse through the theater and concert program, secure your tickets, and look forward to cultural highlights.

Incidentally, the Theater Casino Zug was built in 1909 by Dagobert Keiser and Richard Bracher and serves as the hub of Zug’s cultural life. The recent renovation has breathed new life into its old glamour.

A look back shows that Zug has a long theatrical tradition: The earliest records of public performances with over 3,000 spectators date back to the 17th century. In 1782–83, a permanent theater venue was established at the city’s expense. The modest “Comoedi-Haus” was located on the first floor above the old city butcher shop, which is now the police station on Kolinplatz. In 1808, the private “Theatergesellschaft Zug” was founded; it remains active today as the Theater- und Musikgesellschaft Zug (tmgz).

With the 2025–2026 season, the Theater Casino Zug continues this tradition and invites its audience to rediscover the power of myths on stage.
