Located on the picturesque outskirts of the old town of Zug, the Kunsthaus Zug is an important address for lovers of modern and contemporary art.
The museum is home to works of Swiss Surrealism and Fantastic Realism – and above all a collection of Viennese Modernism (Klimt, Hoffmann, Schiele, Kokoschka and many more), which has reached international critical acclaim.
Due to a lack of space, the multifaceted collection is not on permanent display, however it is exhibited partially in thematic exhibitions. Every year, four to five projects are dedicated to contemporary art and that of the 20th century. The Kunsthaus Zug regards itself as a partner of contemporary artists and dedicates itself to new, often long-term projects in a public space (Eliasson, Kabakov, Kawamata, Pepperstein, Rütimann, Signer). Interdisciplinary projects in cooperation with other events or institutions are often part of the program.
