How did people live back then? What did they eat, how did they celebrate? It quickly becomes clear: the Middle Ages were much more colorful and lively than you might think.

This is all on display in the Museum Burg Zug's special exhibition "hûs, stat, fëld - Mittelalter in der Zentralschweiz".
Over 300 exhibits tell of the changes between 1200 and 1550 - of town foundations, long-distance trade and life on the Alps. A special highlight is the interactive landscape model, which shows the changes in the region from a bird's eye view.
A varied supporting program with guided tours, readings and hands-on activities enhances the experience. From February 2026, there will be a medieval workshop for families, a family tour with the maid Ita and a cooking workshop on the taste of times gone by.
