A regrouping of the army in 1940 was intended to ensure that at least part of Switzerland could be retained. The idea of the Reduit was born and was visibly implemented in the landscape. The contemporary witnesses from the Second World War tell us who was to be stopped where, give us an idea of what the soldiers achieved back then and guide us through the Cold War era.
