It's getting light, the day is dawning and I slowly open my eyes. The numbers on the alarm clock read 05:23. In the summer months, I choose a healthier alternative to get to work - I walk.

This decision has enriched my life and changed my everyday life in a positive way. Instead of squeezing into overcrowded transportation or being stuck in traffic jams, I now immerse myself in the beauty of nature.
My route takes me through picturesque landscapes, past green meadows and dense forests. The gentle murmur of the Sihl accompanies me as I breathe in the scent of fresh air and blooming flowers. Birdsong and the rustling of leaves soothe my senses and give me a meditative start to the day.
The benefits of this journey close to nature are manifold. Exercising in the fresh air invigorates my mind and boosts my energy. Walking through nature is not only good for my health, but also for the environment. I reduce my CO2 emissions and leave a smaller ecological footprint. This small decision helps to protect and preserve the nature that I value so much.
Every day is a new adventure. I observe the changes in the time of day, admire the variety of colors and the beauty of the landscape. It's as if I see the world around me with new eyes.
The journey may be longer than the traditional commute, but the joy I get from it is priceless. I arrive at work with a refreshed mind and a smile on my lips. The positive impact of walking is reflected in my productivity and job satisfaction. Incidentally, poets and philosophers found this out hundreds of years ago.
In that sense - I'm off to work.
