Treichler Zuger Kirschtortenmuseum

Heinrich Höhn, the inventor of the Zuger Kirschtorte, took over the "Kaffee-Wirtschaft zur Spindel" in 1913 and set up a small patisserie with his wife. He was fascinated by the local kirsch and experimented for several years with a cake soaked in kirsch. Two years passed before he launched the first Zuger Kirschtorte on the market. The success story began.

In 1943, he handed over the business to the Treichler family. Today you will find the Zuger Kirschtorten Museum at Treichler with over 200 original exhibits, pictures and documents from over 100 years of history. Among the many rarities you ll find, for example, an original silk dress worn by Hollywood star Audrey Hepburn, who was a regular customer at Treichler in the 1960s.
